Konusu:
Dizi, 1911 deki Japon işgaline kadar Kore yi yöneten ve bu kuşatmadan sonra bir daha kendini toparlayamayan Kore nin son kraliyet ailesi model alınarak hazırlanmıştır.
Dizi Kral’ın hastalandığı haberiyle başlar. Kral’ın her an ölebileceği düşüncesiyle veliaht prens Shin’e bir eş bulmak gereklidir. Shin, balerinlikle uğraşan Hyorin’e evlenme teklif eder ama Hyorin balerin olmayı daha çok istediğini söyleyerek onu reddeder. Bunun üzerine Shin, daha önce verilmiş bir sözün üzerine Chae-kyong adında bir kızla evlenmek zorunda kalır… Chae-kyong’un saray yaşamına alışma süreci, diğer kral adayı Yul’un da İngiltere’den gelmesiyle olaylar içinden çıkılmaz bir hal alacaktır…
